The Guarini Center for Environmental, Energy and Land Use Law is pleased to announce a new fellowship for NYU Law students interested in sustainable energy law and policy.
The Guarini Center, housed at NYU School of Law, is an academic research center that advances energy and environmental policies to support the transition towards a sustainable economy. The Student Fellow in Sustainable Energy Law and Policy (“Fellow”) will assist with our research efforts to develop policy and regulatory frameworks that will stimulate the growth of low-carbon energy resources, improve resiliency, and enhance energy efficiency. We tackle issues at the City, State and international levels, working on challenges ranging from the promotion of energy efficiency throughout New York City’s building stock, to the deployment of solar power in Small Island Developing States, to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with international maritime transportation.
This fellowship is designed for promising law students with an interest in energy and environmental law policy. The Fellow will be expected to produce a series of written papers directed at both policy and academic audiences; to assist in convening workshops, talks and conferences; and to engage energy policy leaders and constituencies in the New York region as well as elsewhere within NYU. In addition to excellent research and writing skills, the Fellow should possess an ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas that map out practical ways for implementation, and work as part of a team. Prior coursework and professional experience in environmental and/or energy issues is valued, but not essential.
The Fellow will be appointed for a one-year period beginning on or about February 15th and will receive a $10,000 stipend over the course of the year. All current 1L and 2L students are eligible to apply.
